Micro Saint (имитационное моделирование).

OptQuest is a computer software system that allows users to automatically search for optimal solutions to complex systems. In the current version, OptQuest has been specifically customized to help users to find optimal input parameter settings to simulation models built with Micro Saint. In order to use OptQuest you must first create a Micro Saint model. Once the simulation model has been created, the Optimize option in Micro Saint will give you access to OptQuest. Within OptQuest you describe your optimization problem and search for values of optimization variables that maximize or minimize a predefined objective variable. Additionally, OptQuest is designed to find solutions that satisfy a wide variety of constraints modeled by the user. For example, in many situations the optimization variables represent resources (such as machines, people, etc. ) for which a budget exists. The user can then specify that the search be restricted to all those solutions that can be implemented within a given budget.
It is useful for you to be aware of how Micro Saint and OptQuest interact. The two pieces of software are integrated for optimal performance, and are directly connected by your simulation model file. Typically, you would create a model file using the Micro Saint graphical interface and run a couple of trial simulations to verify that everything operates as expected. Suppose that you have created a simulation and stored it in a file named MYMODEL.MOD. When you invoke OptQuest (by means of selecting the Optimize option in Micro Saint), the most current version of MYMODEL.MOD is used by OptQuest to read the variables in the model.
Once the optimization problem is described, Micro Saint is called every time a different set of optimization variable values needs to be evaluated. Once a simulation terminates, the simulation results are sent back to OptQuest and the search continues. The simulation results in this process are summarized by the value of the objective variable, which must be specified in the Micro Saint model.
This "Student" version of Micro Saint will tun models with a maximum of 25 variables and 25 tasks. The student version has an unlimited site license for this department in this university.
