Try writing down the words for the main features of a face (e.g. occhi) and then, for each one, list as many
related nouns and adjectives as possibile (e.g. for occhi: azzurri). Then look at the nouns and adjectives
relating to facial appearance in the box.
Bocca: piccola, grande, ben disegnata, sensuale, una boccuccia
Capelli: scuri, chiari, neri, bruni, castani, biondi, grigi, brizzolati, lisci,
ondulati, ricci, sottili, delicati, morbidi, lunghi, corti, a spazzola,

We wouldn’t expect you to have produced even half the words in this list, but offer them so that you can
extend the number and range of the words at your disposal.

1. La tua famiglia, i miei genitori. Possessive adjectives
The possessive adjective in Italian is usually preceded by the article, for example:
il mio lavoro my work
la mia amica my friend
i miei amici my friends
le mie sorelle my sisters
The definite article is not used with words for family members, in the singular and unqualified, i.e. without
an accompanying adjective. So:
mio padre my father
mia zia my aunt
but:
il mio fratello giovane
my young brother
