translation: I told Bob a secret and he told

“real speak”: I told Bob a secret an’ ’e told
ev’ryone! Whad a dick!
Note: As one might suspect, since dick is a
person’s first name as well as a
slang term for “penis,” a lot of
joking and teasing often arises
around this. During my first day at
college, our French professor
greeted the new students but was
unaware that dick was slang for
“penis.” She began her greeting by
saying, “My son, Dick, went to this
very university when he was your
age. How many “Dicks” do we have
here in the auditorium?" After a
moment, every male in the entire
auditorium raised his hand and
laughed. Moral: If you don’t know
your American slang, you could get
into trouble!

Note: It is extremely important to note
that although the term fanny is
acceptable in American slang as a
synonym for “buttocks,” in British
slang it is a crude synonym for
“vagina.”
