The dam
site
profile
consists
of
granite,
granite
-
gneiss
and
-gneiss.
On the right ri-
ver
bank the
rock crops out
to
the
surface,
while on
the
left
bank
the rock
is
cove-
red
by a layer of
granite
grit
which is thick even
to
8
meters.
The
dam of
maximum height
38.5
m and
of total length
408.5
m consists of
three ty-
pes
of
dams.
On
the right
bank
a concre-
te
gravity
dam
with
a spill-
way has
been executed.
The
total
length of this section
of
the dam
is 49.5
m and
the
maximum
height
is 14
m.
The
central
multipie
arch
section
280.0
m long
con-
sists
of
14 inclined
arches
which lean
against
13
but-
tresses.
The
span
between
the
buttresses
axes
is
20
m. Buttresses are
of trian-
gular
vertical cross
section
with upstream
slope
1:0.85
and
downstream
slope
1:0.3.
Buttresses
are
reinforced
with
14 kg of steel
per
one
cubic
meter
of
concrete.
The inclined
semi-cylindrical
arches
have
the mean
radius
of
9.2 m and
central
angle
1500 and
their
thickness
of
0.60
m
is
constant along
the
entire
height. Arches
are
reinforced
with 45 kg of
steel
on one
cubic meter
of
concrete.
Longitudinally
the
structure
of
the
rnultiirle
arch section
of
the
dam has been stiffe-
ned
by buttress
bracings,
and
by the bridge
going
along
the dam
crest.
On the
left
bank the rock-
fill section of the dam was
constructed.
This
part
of
the
total
length of 79.0
m and
of
maximum height
of 14
m has
been
constructed with
the
upstream
reinforced
concrete
screen. 20
cm
thick.
The
thickness of
the
dam
at crest is
3,O m, the
upstream
slope is 1:1 while
the downstream slope
is
1:1

Three
years
after
the dam
was
completed and
in ope-
ration, the
upstream
face of
the rnultiple arch
portion
was
protected
by
reinforced
polyester.
