
One final thought about the future of MMUIs is in order. As technology
becomes more ubiquitous and the tools to build these interfaces become more
widely available, there will likely be an increase in competition. When the tech-
nology and features are no longer the defining reasons for a purchase and price
points converge, consumers will demand—and start making purchasing decisions
based on—the ease of use of the product or service. The well-trained and data-
driven human factors professional can be the bridge from grand ideas of what
an application can be to making it simple and enjoyable for people to use.
