Зверніть увагу

•almost /nearly always • almost never • hardly ever також

можуть стояти перед смисловим дієсловом або після to be.

I hardly ever see you any more.

Sally is almost never on time.

Прислівники •sometimes • usually • normally • occasionally

можна поставити на початку речення задля виразливості, щоб

підкреслити.

Usually I pay for the dinner.

Sometimes my uncle comes in to see how I am.

Normally I get up at 6 o’clock, but today I am on holiday.

Note !

•all the time та almost always не можуть стояти на початку

речення.

Якщо never, hardly ever та not even once стоять на початку

речення, то слова в реченні мають змінити порядок, тобто

потрібна інверсія.

дії в момент говоріння або написання.

Для вираження дії, яка триває, розвивається і не обов’язково в

момент розмови.

The climate is changing.

Для вираження дії, запланованої на найближчий час у майбут-

ньому.

Sally is coming for dinner tonight.

She’s flying to London tomorrow.

They’re going on holiday next week.

Для вираження намірів здійснити майбутню дію, тобто що

збираються зробити.

I’m going to buy a new car.

Jane’s going to work in France.

Правила написання

Spelling rules

Дієслово, яке закінчується на -е: Ve → Ving

Write — writing, live — living, have — having, come — coming

Дієслово, яке закінчується на голосну + е: Vie → Vying

Lie — lying, die — dying

В односкладових дієсловах, де в кінці приголосна — голосна —

приголосна, подвоюється остання приголосна.

Stop — stopping, run — running

У двоскладових (або більше) дієсловах, у яких в кінці склад

(приголосний — голосна — приголосний) наголошений, подво-

юється останній приголосний.

be`gin — beginning, oc`cur — occurring

Виняток: `happen — happening (last syllable is not stressed so it

is not doubled)
