Abstract
This new work presents the mathematical theory and techniques for analyzing and modeling high-performance global communication networks, with a focus on software employed at the end nodes and intermediate switches. Topics include, but are not limited to Markov chains and queuing analysis, traffic modeling, interconnection networks, and switch architectures and buffering strategies. Several appendices are provided as a handy reference for material and formulas discussed in the book. The author provides a discussion of the use of MATLAB in engineering applications. Over 500 homework problems are included in the text. A separate protected solutions manual will be available to instructors adopting this book as the primary text in courses. Analysis of Computer and Communication Networks is intended for senior and graduate students, university researchers and practicing engineers in communications, network design and analysis.
