Shopping
Whether you plan a major shopping.
spree or just need to purchase
some basic necessities, the
following. information is useful.
Upon arriving in Russia,
tourists must fill out a
customs declaration form.
Keep this with you until you
leave as it lists your personal items.
Visitors to Russia will enjoy shopping,
particularly in Moscow and St. Petersburg,
where shops cater to tourists. There are
several souvenir shops, department
stores and small outdoor stands. You
can also find a wide array of arts and
antiques.
When purchasing items, ask the shop
keeper for a certificate that shows that
your purchases have been paid by hard
currency.
Allow extra time for shopping as prices
vary from shop to shop. Payment is
expected in rubles.
Shopping hours in Russia are Monday
through Saturday 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.
Many food shops remain open on
Sundays.
