ABSTRACT
The graduation research paper of Okcana I., the forth-year student
(faculty of psychology, department of general and education psychology)
presents theoretical substantiation and empirical evidence of the role of
humor as a coping behavior resource and psychological defense
mechanism. The analysis of personality traits has shown that their patterns
mediate the use of humor either as a defense mechanism or a coping
strategy, which also finds reflection in the styles of humor manifestations.
The results of the research can be used in psychotherapy and psycho-
logical counseling.
