6. GEOGRAPHICAL COVERAGE
Please note that in order to have comparable time
series for aggregates with changing membership, all
countries noted below are included for all years.
Australia excludes the overseas territories.
Denmark includes Greenland and the Danish Faroes
until 1989.
France includes Monaco. It excludes Andorra and the
overseas territories Guadeloupe, Martinique,
French Guyana, Reunion, St.-Pierre and Miquelon,
New Caledonia, French Polynesia, Wallis and Futuna,
Mayotte.
Germany includes the new federal states of Germany
from 1970 onwards unless otherwise indicated in a
footnote.
Italy includes San Marino and the Vatican.
Japan includes Okinawa.
The Netherlands excludes Suriname and the
Netherlands Antilles.
Portugal includes the Açores and Madeira.
Spain includes the Canary Islands.
Switzerland includes Liechtenstein.
United States includes the 50 States, District of Columbia,
the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and Guam.
United Kingdom includes Jersey, Guernsey and the
Isle of Man.
OECD Total comprises Australia, Austria, Belgium,
Canada, Chile, the Czech Republic, Denmark,
