chocaholic n. one who loves chocolate.
example: My father is a chocaholic. He’ll eat anything with
chocolate on it!
translation: My father is a lover of chocolate. He’ll eat anything
with chocolate on it!
“real speak”: My father’s a chocaholic. He’ll ead anything with
choc’lit on it!
Note: This is a play-on-words on the term alcoholic, meaning “a
person addicted to alcohol.” The suffix -aholic can be
added to many words to suggest that the subject is
addicted to something. For example: food-aholic, shop-
aholic, gym-aholic, etc.

cut down on something (to) v. to decrease something (such as eating, spending, shopping, etc).
example: I love desserts, but I’m trying to cut down because I’ve
started to put on weight!

because I’ve started to put on weight!
“real speak”: I love desserts, bud I’m trying ta cut down ’cuz I’ve
starded da pud on weight!
Variation: cut back on something (to) exp.
Also: cut out something (to) exp. to eliminate something
completely.

doggie bag n. a bag used to carry leftover food home from a restaurant.
example: I can’t finish all this food. I’m going to ask our waiter for a
doggie bag.

bag to take this food home.
“real speak”: I can’t finish all this food. I’m gonna ask ’ar waider fer a
doggie bag.
Note: This term was originally used to refer to a bag that people
could use to take bones home from a restaurant to their
dog or “doggie” (a child’s term for “dog”).
