ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Tarek Ahmed, Ph.D., P.E., is a Professor and the Chairman of the

Petroleum Engineering Department at Montana Tech of the University of

Montana. Dr. Ahmed also holds the Union Pacific Resources Endowed

Chair. He has a Ph.D. from the University of Oklahoma, an M.S. from

the University of Missouri-Rolla, and a B.S. from the Faculty of Petrole-

um (Egypt)—all degrees in petroleum engineering. Dr. Ahmed is also the

author of 29 technical papers, in addition to a book entitled Hydrocarbon

Phase Behavior (Gulf Publishing Company, 1989).
