This dramatic offi ce building is the fi rst 6-storey steel building from Lindab-Astron in Belgium. Thierry
Storme, director of Ipes n.v., said “Whether to build in steel or concrete is no longer really a question.
Today, more and more architects use a combination of the two materials. Flexible solutions, solid
structural design combined with aesthetics, competitive pricing; Lindab-Astron has adapted its
systems well to the new market requirements. Floors are set back from one another which,
combined with the intensive use of glass and aluminium, plus the rotunda with its granite cladding,
serve to give the Liberty building a modern and contemporary look.

Novasep already ordered a 2,900m² three fl oor headquarters Astron building with a 1,400m²
production area in 2002 (see precedent project). This time, the company needed a new
building for its holding which is located on the same site in Pompey (F). Since the customer
was very satisfi ed with execution and services for the previous buildings, there was no
doubt to turn to Nancy Construction again, to architect Claude Schlegel and the Astron
building system.
