1966, 136 pp.
There are at least three reasons why the authors felt that a monograph such as this might prove useful. For the past fifteen years or so there have appeared many texts and treatises which have presented extensive studies at all levels of sophistication of the solutions of the neutron transport equation. However, the origins and limitations of this equation have been given little or no attention. But the fission reactor technology (like the fusion technology and many other areas of mode engineering) is demanding a deepening awareness of the subtle relationship between microscopic cause and macroscopic effect. Thus we felt that аn initiation of an exploration into the foundation of the neutron transport equation was a needed complement to the examination of its solutions.
