CHAPTER 16 POWER SYSTEM STABILITY
Classical stability studies and their underlying assumptions are explained
for the multimachine case and a simple step-by-step procedure for solving the
swing equations of the system is illustrated numerically. A basis is thereby
provided for further study of the more powerful numerical techniques employed
in
industry-based production-type computer programs.
Transient stability of the power system is aected by many other factors
related to the design of the system network, its protection system, and the
control schemes associated with each of the generating units. These factors are
discussed in summary form.
