reverse the result. June 28, New Zealand signs the peace
treaty and becomes a founding member of the League of Na-

Country Women's Institute arrives in New Zealand
from Canada. Te Rangi Hiroa appointed medical officer for
Maori health. December 17, Massey's government returned
by 46 of 80 seats; formation of the Alliance of Labor; and
women given the right to stand for parliament.
