Исследование венгерского историка Амбруса Мискольчи, нашедшего в Библиотеке Конгресса США фонд личной библиотеки А. Гитлера, захваченной союзниками летом 1945 г. в баварских горах.
В книге рассматривается личность фюрера сквозь призму его интереса к тем или иных авторам (Вагнер), писателям (Лагард), философам (Юнгер), ученым (Кникербокер) и просто беллетристам (Май). Исследователь подробно описывает заметки на полях, оставленые Гитлером, его размышления и перечень прочитанныого в разные годы, систематику и формирование личной библиотеки. Также показана связь между "праздными" литературными увлечениями Гитлера и его собственным публицистическим стилем, представленым позже в "Моей борьбе". В собрании также были обнаружены книги Р. Тагора, М. Ганди, П. Лансло и др., многие из которых даже не разрезаны.
