The process studied in this report involves the use of magnetic and abrasive particles for finishing the inner surface of the tube with irregular wall thickness in the presence of magnetic field. Other finishing complications result from wear and heat resistance of the cobalt chromium material and high dimensional tolerances of the workpiece. The objective of this research is to verify the feasibility of Magnetic Abrasive Finishing process for finishing the inner surface of such a workpiece and determine the type and amount of magnetic abrasive tools needed for finishing a workpiece. Another goal of this research was to conclude the roughness limitations of the inner surface of the workpiece when finished using the determined magnetic abrasive tools.
