The handbook has been compiled by S. Fomin, an experienced Soviet
lathe operator, and is based upon many years of work a a lathe
operator and foreman. The book includes data on the form and angles
of the most commonly used types of cutting tools, and on cutting
rates applied in tuing, drilling, counterboring, reaming, and
threading. It also surveys grades of cemented carbides and gives
some hints on the selection of wheels lot tool grinding, as well as
some suggestions for remedying faults in tuing and turret lathes.
The handbook is intended for lathe foremen and skilled machine
operators.
