Rada Ivekovi?, Ranabir Samaddar
Frank Cass, 2005. 156 p.
Changes in the world political map, due to the collapse of the Soviet Union and forces of
globalization, have led to the renewed interest in the studies of the dynamic processes
that are causing the reconfiguration of territories and states. For some, the world of
nation-states has come to an end, and the globe is experiencing deterritorialization as we
move into a ‘borderless’ world. For others, the territorial component of state structure
remains an important part of global politics, as new states are formed and new boundaries
are erected. National identities are re-emerging at local and regional levels, while the
traditional state-system, based on the Westphalian model, is undergoing dramatic
changes.
Frank Cass Studies in Geopolitics seeks to examine these changing pattes of world
politics. Scholars from related disciplines, such as Inteational Relations, Political
Geography and Inteational Law, will present diverse perspectives on both the
contemporary and historical dynamics of the world political map. Attention will also be
given to the practitioners of geopolitics, past and present, scholars and diplomats, and
their respective influences on global political change.
