I'm going to analyze a play "Thursday evening" by Christopher, an
American joualist, novelist, essayist and poet. He also produced
stage productions for a few years and gave college lectures.
In the preface of the play the author tells that the vents of the story take place in the kitchen after a dinner which a young couple, Gordon and Laura by name, give to their mothers. Laura is very tired after a hard day so the atmosphere is quite tense and Gordon takes pains to avoid a quarrel. But nevertheless the play itself starts with the quarreling as while washing up Laura throws away all odds and ends.
